Croft Castle Herefordshire

On behalf of our longstanding client The National Trust, we monitored groundworks for a biomass boiler and heating system at Croft Castle, Yarpole.

Engineering works were monitored in 5 areas of the castle grounds and a rapid record made of several archaeological features.

Results

18th/19th century culverts and the heating duct for an early 20th century greenhouse were revealed.

Associated paths and driveways were dated and recorded.
