Summary

Engineering works were monitored in five areas of the castle grounds and a record made of several archaeological features.

Post-medieval culverts and ducting were revealed; furthermore, former paths and driveways were dated and recorded and added to the historical record of the Grade I Listed building and Grade II Listed estate.

18th – 19th century culverts and the heating duct for an early 20th century greenhouse were also revealed.

Results

The project was delivered successfully within short timescales.
