Excavation under way adjacent to the South Porch
30 November 2016
The cold weather has not deterred our hardy team of archaeologists!
Excavation adjacent to the South Porch is under way. One of the ledger stones uncovered in the foreground is that identified during test pitting in 2015.
The brick structure to the right is an empty brick lined grave shaft probably dating to the 18th or 19th centuries.
5 coins unearthed this week have been sent off for analysis.
