Making Local History

This year Steve Priestly, Director: Research, has made history in the chess world ( literally! ).

Steve currently holds three chess titles:

• joint winner of Shrewsbury Chess club Championship with Peter Kitchen,  sharing the trophy for the second successive year. On the previous year he shared it with Nathanael Paul.
• winner of Leominster Chess Club Championship
• winner of Herefordshire County Championship

The latter is a historic event as Steve is the only chess player outside Hereford City Club to win the county title in 132 years!
