October Shutterbox 2026

Congratulations to the winners of the October ShutterBox competition:

First Prize – Iulia Powis – Rainbow over Border Head Office.

Second Prize – Amy Allan – Serving Neck.

While emus and ostriches look similar at a glance as large, flightless ratite birds, they belong to different continents, families, and physical builds.

Ostrich: Native to the savannas and open woodlands of Africa.

Emu: Endemic to the forests, grasslands, and scrublands of Australia.

But both pale in comparison to the majestic British variety found in the BBC archives.

Next months closing date will be the 2^nd December.
