Craig S. Lathwell

With a keen appreciation of the natural environment and a desire to have a positive impact in the world, Craig graduated from Aberystwyth University with a degree in Environmental Science. Craig then utilised his skills working in a local Quarry while volunteering at a local countryside conservation organisation during weekends. At the quarry, Craig worked his way to become the quality control operative along with carrying out weighbridge operations, geotechnical checks and monitoring quarry water discharge to ensure compliance with the Environmental legislation at the time. Craig then joined Border Archaeology as an Environmental Science Assistant and took on increasingly senior roles, eventually attaining ACIfA accreditation and becoming Manager of the palaeoenvironmental department.

Outside of work Craig, has interests in history, current events and sustainability. He has also been involved in Tae kwon Do since 2000, gaining his first black belt in 2005 and eventually achieving his fourth-degree black belt in 2014. Craig’s research interests are past and present environmental interactions across the geological, ecological and anthropological spectra.
