Our Team Of Experts
Our Senior Managers have worked together for over 15 years, providing a highly efficient, stable and professional management team.

Andrew’s first experience of archaeology was as a child, troweling back a trench at the site of the Roman settlement of Blackwardine, Herefordshire in the 1970’s.
Following in family footsteps, he eventually moved into the study, making and restoration of armour, going on to produce work for the Royal Armouries, the School of Historical Dress, the Chi Mei Foundation and the National and Shakespeare’s Globe theatres. For the latter, notable commissions included pieces for the televised production of Richard II, the Olivier award winning Twelfth Night and Sir Mark Rylance’s Cleopatra and Richard III armours in 1999 and 2012 respectively.
In 2001, working with other armourers, he was commissioned by Historic Royal Palaces to produce a replica suit based on Henry VIII’s 1540 Greenwich-style harness, for educational use at Hampton Court Palace. The armour later featured in the 2003 Time Team episode, ‘Joust Dig It’, worn by archaeologist Phil Harding!
Andrew first encountered Border Archaeology at their Pembridge village castle site dig in 2004. From 2017-19 he joined the company, working in the Head Office Archives department and he re-joined in 2022 to work in the paleoenvironmental unit.
Other interests include castles, music and medieval art. He also writes songs, local history books and audio ‘Doctor Who’ scripts!
